Search for FNAF World in 2026 and you will run into two games with almost the same name: the 2016 original, and something called FNAF World: Refreshed. Are they the same game? Short answer: no. Long answer: keep reading, because the differences are exactly why the community is buzzing.
Are FNAF World and FNAF World Refreshed the same game?
- FNAF World is the official 2016 RPG spin-off by series creator Scott Cawthon.
- FNAF World: Refreshed is an unofficial, fan-made complete remake of that game, directed by Pyturret and built by The Refreshed Team. It launched in full in May 2025 and is still being updated — the current version is 1.6.1, with a big 1.7 update already teased.
Think of Refreshed as a fan-made remaster: same world, same characters at its core, but rebuilt from scratch.

What Refreshed actually changes
The remake is not a fresh coat of paint — it touches almost every system:
- A 3D overworld replaces the original's flat maps, with new areas to explore
- Combat is rebalanced around a visible speed bar, so you can actually plan turns instead of guessing
- Four move slots per character (up from three) plus attacks that never existed in the original
- New characters pulled in from Sister Location and Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator
- Reworked menus, party management, and boss fights — the things the community complained about for a decade
The team has also teased version 1.7 with new characters, skins and crossover content, though it has no release date yet. A planned story continuation ("Part 2") is officially on hold — for now, the project focuses on polishing the base game.

A word of caution: random APK sites listing "FNAF World Refreshed mobile" that are not the Game Jolt page are not trustworthy. If it is not linked from the official page, do not install it.
Which one should you play?
Honestly? Both. Start with the original — it takes minutes to jump in from your browser, and it is the version Markiplier just played for millions of viewers (we covered the FNAF World comeback here). Then, if you want the deeper, modernized experience, graduate to Refreshed on PC or Android.
